George Emerson

Founder, CEO

George founded the Emerson Companies in 1978 in his hometown of Chester, VA. Since then, he has built a company and a brand that is known for creating premier commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Today, he is the leader of the company, and is active and engaged in all aspects of the company’s strategy and operations.

In addition to his role at the Emerson Companies, George serves and supports many local organizations and nonprofit initiatives, including time on the boards of the VCU Real Estate Foundation, VCU Massey Cancer Center, VCU Medical Center, Community Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and Henricus Park, and is the founder of The Highlands Massey Classic which benefits the Massey Cancer Center.

George earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from VCU in 1978.
